WhatsApp Gold themes are part of the appeal, but a theme that looks shiny and hides your text is a bad theme.
Apply a theme
Open Gold settings, Themes, browse or download, then Apply.
Build a gold look
Set accent colours to gold, chat backgrounds to dark, and bubble opacity high enough that white text stays readable.
Back up
Export the theme to a file in the Gold folder before reinstalling.
