Straight answers about WhatsApp Gold.
Frequently asked questions
Is WhatsApp Gold real?
The WhatsApp Gold mod is a real unofficial APK made by third parties. The viral messages claiming WhatsApp launched a paid Gold upgrade are a long running scam.
Is WhatsApp Gold safe?
It carries the same risks as other WhatsApp mods: possible bans and fake APKs with malware. Use a secondary number and scan the file.
What is the latest WhatsApp Gold version?
We currently list v54.00 for October 2026, about 125 MB, needing Android 5.0 or later.
Can I use WhatsApp Gold on iPhone?
No. There is no working WhatsApp Gold for iOS. Messages offering one are scams.
Does WhatsApp Gold cost money?
The mod is free. Anyone asking you to pay or complete surveys for it is not trustworthy.
How is Gold different from WhatsApp Plus?
Both are unofficial mods with similar privacy tools. Gold builds often emphasise a gold and black theme by default.
Why is the file larger than Plus?
Different builds package different assets and themes. 125 MB is normal for current Gold builds.
Can I keep official WhatsApp too?
Only with a Gold build that uses a different package name, or with your phone's app cloning.
