Follow this order and your chats stay with you.
- Back up in your current WhatsApp and copy Android, media, com.whatsapp off the phone.
- Uninstall official WhatsApp.
- Download from the WhatsApp Gold download page.
- Allow installs from your browser or file manager.
- Install and open WhatsApp Gold.
- Verify your number with the SMS code.
- Restore the backup when offered. If not offered, rename the copied folder to the Gold package name and reopen.
Common errors
- App not installed: leftover package conflict. Uninstall everything WhatsApp related and retry.
- Parse error: incomplete download.
- Outdated version: get v54.00.
